It was a super weekend in Louisville, a time to catch up with great friends and enjoy time with our family. Of course there is a lot of work and little sleep involved in a weekend show like the Kentucky Beef Expo. It was so nice to have Ashley fly in for the weekend, making it so much like years ago with her and so many of Tim's former students with us. We did not have sale consignments this year, there was not a Chiangus Show/Sale, but we did take Blake's heifers for the junior jackpot show held on Sunday.

Blake's Market Heifer, Class Winner in Kentucky show and open show. |
Blake's Heatwave market heifer did great, winning the class in both the Kentucky and open market heifer classes. It was a great way to begin the Kentucky show season with her.
The Chianina heifer is still green so we weren't expecting much from her at this show, just a good time to get her on the trailer and have a little road experience. She was a Kentucky class winner and, she has brighter days ahead.

Blake's September Angus heifer, Class winner in both Kentucky and Open show classes. |
Blake's fancy September Angus heifer, a daughter of SAV Bismarck 5682, purchased from our friends at Voyager Angus in Hodgenville, Kentucky, won her class in both the Kentucky and open show and is the beginning of Blake's involvement with the Kentucky and American Junior Angus Association. We look forward to participating in the NJAS National Junior Heifer Show in July in Louisville!
A special thanks to James Comer, Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner, and the staff with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Division of Shows and Fairs, for another great show supporting and encouraging our youth.
